Ensure implementation of Local Economic Development (LED) Programmes and initiatives in ANDM, as informed by relevant legislation, strategies and sector plans • Facilitate strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance the District’s investment potential • Oversee the overall implementation of Agricultural, Tourism, SMME and all LED related programmes in ANDM • Facilitate investment Promotion initiative for SMMEs, Cooperatives and the District as a whole • identifies and defines the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans and controls associate with Local Economic Development • Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirments associated with the key performance and results indicators of the District • Conduct training to develop understanding and improve capabilities of the local community to participate in economic development initiatives • Engage SMMEs and Cooperatives with respect to funding opportunities available • Package funding applications for the LED Department, SMMEs & Cooperatives • Perform specific activities associated with providing support to line functions • Plans directs and leads the key performance areas and results indicators for the planning and economic development department • Facilitate Spatial Planning and Land Use Management initiatives in the district and provision of support to local municipalities • Manage the development and implementation of the spatial development framework • Execute regional and town planning and conduct research regarding urban design and planning • Investigate new measures, trends and standards in respect of town planning issues control • Deal with enquiries and complaints of the public • Compile reports, statistics and technical reports • Oversee the operations of the District joint municipal planning tribunal • Coordinate Geographic Information Systems and research in key thematic areas of the departmental mandate • Attend to any other matters as shall be assigned by Superior.
