Basic Salary

TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R 774 996.70 (ALL INCLUSIVE TOTAL)

Requirement

THE INCUBENT WILL BE REPORTING TO THE SENIOR MANAGER: PED STATIONED PLACED: MOUNT AYLIFF (MAIN OFFICE) ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Recognized National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management/ Tourism Management/ Maritime Studies / Economics • Abroad understanding of Local Economic Development (LED) in relation to Tourism Development, Heritage and Ocean Economy • Minimum Five years’ appropriate experience in LED in relation to Tourism, Heritage and/or the Ocean Economy • The incumbent will be expected to have a sound understanding of Computer packages ( MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power point) • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Good Analytical and interpersonal skills through knowledge of applicable legislation • Good communication skill, interpersonal relation and negotiation Skills • A valid driver’s license

Key Performance Areas

Develop business plan/proposals for Tourism, Heritage and Ocean Economy initiative • Facilitate the development, review and implementation of Tourism, Heritage and Ocean Economy strategies, policies and guidelines • Manage the Implementation and monitoring of all Tourism, Heritage and Ocean Economy project within the district • Facilitate Stakeholder forums related to Tourism, Heritage and Ocean Economy • Facilitate training to develop understanding and improve capabilities of the local communities to participate in economic development initiative • Engage SMMEs and Cooperative with respect to available funding opportunities • Facilitate the strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the District, Province and Nationally • Package funding applications for the LED Department, SMMEs & Cooperatives • Stimulation of BBBEE within the area • Undertake monthly, quarterly, mid-term and annual reporting for the section• Provide leadership and support to subordinates.
