STATIONED PLACE: MOUNT AYLIFF (MAIN OFFICES) ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 • A recognized National Diploma in Civil Engineering / B Tech Civil Engineering • A minimum of 05 years experience in water and sanitation projects specializing in planning and design of which 03 years must be in managerial position. • Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) will be an added advantage • 03 years experience in working Local Government level with a good understanding of Public Administration • A valid driver’s license • Competency in the use of computers especially in Excel, Power Point, Outlook. role of local government as a means to involve people in shaping the future of our communities • The incumbent will be required to sign an employment contract, a performance agreement

Key Competency Skills

Knowledge of the Local Government sector and applicable legislation • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team • Must be a strategic thinker have a passion for rural development and a good communicator • Must have a working and understanding of Municipal Structures Act, Municipal Systems Act, Water Services Act and the DORA • Willngness and readiness to work long hours and under pressure • Aptitude to provide necessary support for the successful performance of the IDMS.

Key Performance Areas

Plan and design capital projects for District Municipality • Approve and follow up on consultants design and business plans • Prepare feasibility studies for all the projects to be implemented in the District Municipality and ensure alignment with IDP • Responsible for compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports • Responsible for the development of policies, reviewal and implementation Closing date: 23 August 2019 Please note: Applicants must submit a completed ANDM Employment Form obtained from our offices or on our website ( and a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae with exposition of their experience and competencies with certified copies of qualifications, Identity document and license where applicable.
